SyncWith for Google Sheets uses timezones in a few places:
For your reports, both in the report settings like date range, and the report output for example the date column in your report
In our "status row", which is an optional first row we insert in every report, where we display when the report was last updated (in your spreadsheet's timezone), and also display
Edit
andRefresh
buttons so you can easily manage your reportWhen scheduling a report, scheduling days/times are shown in your local timezone, we pull your timezone for this from your browser if possible, otherwise from your Google spreadsheet
How does SyncWith use timezone for your status row
In the SyncWith status for each report we have a line that indicates when the report was last run, it usually reads like Last updated 2025-04-04 12:25pm
. This datetime is displayed using the timezone of your Google spreadsheet. To change this, open the File
menu, then click Settings
.
Once you've changed your spreadsheet's timezone the status row datetime should use the new timezone next time the report is refreshed (or run).
How does SyncWith use Timezone for Reports
When SyncWith inserts dates into your google sheets, it needs to use a timezone to indicate what day and time to put. The same moment can be represented by a different day and time in different timezones, for example as I right this its late at night on Thursday, but its likely already Friday in other parts of the world.
Timezone Discrepancies
A difference in timezone can be a common source of small differences between different systems, for example when comparing data from SyncWith in Google Sheets to the original source (eg Facebook Ads, Google Analytics, Shopify, etc).
How does SyncWith handle Timezones
SyncWith uses the timezone from your Google Sheet.
When a new report is created, the current timezone from your Google Sheet is saved into the connection, so that when the report is updated we can use that same timezone
Changing the Timezone that SyncWith uses for reports
First check (or change) the timezone in your Google Sheet
Once the timezone is correct in your google sheet then you will need to recreate any report(s) again, to cause them to use the new timezone.
See below for how to view and change the timezone in Google Sheets:
